Read all about it.   New York based mens fashion magazine Alwayz Therro features an interview with Find Your Coast Apparel owner Doug Pugh (not pictured)  in their February 2015 issue.   Read the interview below.

Meet the owner of Find Your Coast Apparel

Besides the coast.. what inspires your designs & brand?
I am a very passionate, all or nothing person. When the Find Your Coast brand launched it was my creative outlet for being able to express and share all the things I love and am passionate about in life from the deepest parts of who I am. I am inspired by every experience I have in my life. I am inspired by the sharing community on our instagram that has been created with awesome lifestyles, personalities and amazing locations behind the shared photos. They constantly spark a new idea or design for the Find Your Coast Brand. It is something that is always on my mind. Everywhere I go, everything I do and the smallest thing can spark an idea or concept. Other things such as art, sports, people, music and places inspire me. I have a great appreciation for people who live with a positive attitude, enjoying a happy active lifestyle. I am inspired by athletes, following your dreams, being the best version of yourself, promoting something great. The designs come from a lifetime of traveling, living in new locations, meeting great people and taking something away from all of those experiences. I’m inspired to create something different. Something where all of the particular things you would pay attention to when shopping for clothes might come into focus such as the way something fits, looks, feels, wears, washes and even the way it engages other people while you wear it. I’m trying to capture the lifestyle behind my designs and everyone that aspires to live it. Taking into consideration great fitting fabrics and designs that will seek like minded people to enjoy quality apparel and shirts even offering an awesome memory of something great they did. Of course the amazing coasts that surround the worlds oceans spark a lot of that passion for life and creating the Find Your Coast Brand. They represent some of the most sought after entertainment and recreation hot spots the world has to offer. All are unique and offer their very own attractions, retreats and scenery.

Growing up did you know you would be into fashion?
I guess the creative entrepreneur must be in my genes. My mom is an interior designer, my brother is a musician, my grandfather was always creating and starting different businesses from wine making to a large family run nursery. So I was brought up around a lot of great family with strong creative businesses. Growing up I always had a particular taste. What I knew growing up was that whatever brands I wore had to
have a deeper meaning for me. I was particular about the way things fit, their appearance, their meaning and what it stood for. If I wore it it became a symbol of who I was and what I stood for. What I liked. What I promoted. Everyone has their own style as it is the greatest way we all express our own self, what interests us and it is constantly changing and evolving. I did not know I would one day be into fashion, as I am now, however I knew whatever I did it would be who I was down to the deepest parts of me. My passions in life lead the way. Blazing my own path.

Who is your favorite designer?
I have always found myself attracted to Ralph Lauren. Not only did he create something that became an All-American iconic brand but with it he created a lifestyle that his brand represents and has resonated with so many. Filled with a meaning that stood for athletics, quality and an american lifestyle just to touch on a few. Classic, casual, prep with a style that is always great and never fades.

What are 3 of your top favorite cities to visit and why?
I love to visit New Orleans with all of its charm, history, diverse culture and warm weather. I love to visit the Cayman Islands as an ultimate Caribbean destination filled with hospitality, beaches galore and amazing food. I also love to visit Miami with its crystal blue waters, awesome shopping/dining on Lincoln Ave. and the feeling that you are at every turn surrounded by amazing waterways. In addition to Miami I love the St. Augustine area. Old world charm with a slower pace and a small town feel. It is an awesome place to visit several times a year. Florida offers unique coasts on both sides of the state.

What do you hope to accomplish with your brand when it’s all said and done. All said and done?
Hopefully that day will never come. I hope to continue to build and grow my market niche, attract and inspire people to take part in my brand and come along for the ride and be a part of it. I have many ideas for new designs and products and hope to see them all produced. I hope and look forward to reaching new coasts worldwide for new inspiration and reaching new like minded people to become a part of the brand as this is just the beginning. As I have mentioned this is my passion in life, who I am, and to be able to share that concept with people and watch it grow will be like watching my dreams come true.

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?
I hope to see the outreach of the brand expanding and continuing to grow and reach new retailers, locations and new heights. Even becoming well known & recognized on coasts around the country and the world. It would be awesome to be walking down a new beach and spot someone wearing Find Your Coast Apparel!
